The following policy applies to:
- APA's - Australian Postgraduate Awards
- APA(I)'s - Australian Postgraduate Award Industry
- UTS Doctoral Scholarships
- R.L Werner Scholarships
- UTS Faculty of Science Doctoral Scholarships
The above awards offer a thesis allowance that may be claimed within 6 months of submitting your thesis but no later than 2 years after the award has expired.
A thesis allowance is offered to reimburse you from costs associated with the production of your thesis.
The maximum amount that may be reimbursed:
$420.00 Masters thesis
$840.00 PhD thesis
Procedure for Claiming your thesis allowance
To claim your thesis allowance, please write to the University Graduate School within 6 months of submitting your thesis but no later than 2 years from your scholarship expiring.
In the letter, outline the associated costs for the production of your thesis and attach all receipts.
To avoid delays please also nominate a current mailing address so expenditure may send you a cheque.
Once the University Graduate School has received your letter and receipts, an authority will be sent to the UTS Financial Services Unit expenditure department and they will mail you a cheque within 10 working days.
