Information and Education programs for students and supervisors

Students have to be aware of the milestones of candidature and make sure that they meet the UTS requirements. When students first begin a research degree, they have to Learn the Ropes, establish Good Work Practices and ensure that they engage in Responsible Research. STAR is a free web-based resource provided by UGS to support research students in all aspects of their candidature.

UTS offers a broadly based education and development program for students and their supervisors, which takes the student beyond sole reliance on the student-supervisor relationship and which builds the knowledge and skills of the supervisor. There is also a range of support and services available for research students. Students have a range of opportunities to be involved in consultation and decision-making on matters of relevance to research training.

The research degrees at UTS are based on a clear articulation of a set of graduate attributes while at the same time recognising that in contemporary times, knowledge is produced in a variety of sites in a variety of ways.
