Role of UGS

To promote innovation and excellence in UTS postgraduate research education by:


  • Leading University strategic planning and policy development in postgraduate research education;
  • Developing, and inspiring commitment to, a University-wide and systemic approach to quality assurance in postgraduate research education;
  • Providing a range of services to research degree students, including complaints handling, information, scholarship administration, generic skills development;
  • Promoting links with industry and business for the purposes of postgraduate research education and developing new educational models which build on these links;
  •  Coordinating academic staff development activities that align with the University's quality assurance system and strategic priorities in postgraduate research education.
